General Terms and Conditions

Workshops, Courses and Events by Butzeria

1. Scope

These General Terms and Conditions apply to workshops, courses and events booked directly with Butzeria.

Individual events may be subject to additional or differing conditions. Where applicable, these will be expressly stated in the respective event description.

Offers and purchases made via external platforms such as Ravelry or Payhip are subject to the terms and conditions applicable on those platforms and are not covered by these General Terms and Conditions.

2. Registration and Conclusion of Contract

Registration for an event may be made by email or through other booking options provided by Butzeria.

Before a booking becomes binding, participants will be informed of the applicable General Terms and Conditions and given the opportunity to review them.

Registration becomes binding once the participant has accepted the General Terms and Conditions and Butzeria has subsequently confirmed the booking in writing. From that point onwards, the participant’s place is reserved and the participation fee is due.

The General Terms and Conditions valid at the time of booking apply.

3. Prices and Payment

The participation fee stated for the respective event applies.

Invoices must be paid in full within 10 days of the invoice date.

For bookings made less than 10 days before the start of an event, payment is due immediately and must be received no later than before the event begins.

The respective event description or information provided in advance will specify which services and materials are included in the participation fee.

4. Cancellation by Participants

Cancellations must be made in writing.

The following cancellation conditions apply:

• 14 days or more before the start of the event: cancellation is free of charge; any participation fees already paid will be refunded in full.

• 7 to 13 days before the start of the event: 50% of the participation fee is due.

• Less than 7 days before the start of the event or in the event of a no-show: the full participation fee is due.

If Butzeria is able to fill a cancelled place with another participant, any participation fee already paid will be refunded regardless of the time of cancellation, less an administration fee of CHF 10.

A substitute participant may attend at any time, provided that they meet the requirements for the respective event. Butzeria must be informed of the substitution before the event begins.

5. Transfers to Another Date

A request to transfer a booking to another event date will generally be treated in the same way as a cancellation.

Butzeria may, at its discretion, allow a transfer to another date as a gesture of goodwill. There is no entitlement to such a transfer.

6. Event Delivery and Minimum Number of Participants

Unless otherwise stated for a particular event, the minimum number of participants is three.

Butzeria reserves the right to cancel an event if the minimum number of participants is not reached. A decision regarding cancellation will generally be made no later than five days before the event begins.

In the event of illness of the instructor, force majeure or other important circumstances, an event may also be cancelled or postponed at short notice.

If an event is cancelled by Butzeria, any participation fees already paid will be refunded in full.

To the extent permitted by law, no further claims may be made, in particular for travel, accommodation or other personal expenses.

7. Changes to Events

Butzeria reserves the right to make organisationally necessary changes to the schedule, times or individual arrangements of an event, provided that the essential content and nature of the event remain unchanged.

Participants will be informed of any significant changes as early as possible.

8. Late Arrival

Participants arriving late are not entitled to an extension of the event, to make up missed content or to receive a partial refund of the participation fee.

9. Materials and Personal Equipment

The respective event description or information provided in advance will specify which materials, tools or preparations are required and which are included in the participation fee.

Participants are responsible for bringing any materials or tools expressly stated as being required.

10. Liability

Participation in events is generally at the participant’s own responsibility.

To the extent permitted by law, Butzeria is not liable for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings or for damages for which Butzeria is not responsible.

Participants are responsible for taking into account any personal circumstances that may be relevant to their safe participation in an event.

Liability remains unaffected where it cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory Swiss law.

11. Copyright and Course Materials

Course materials, knitting patterns, charts, graphics, texts and other content provided by Butzeria are protected by copyright and are generally intended exclusively for the participant’s personal use.

Without the express permission of Butzeria, these materials may not, in whole or in part, be shared, published, sold or made publicly available, including online.

Knowledge and craft techniques acquired during an event may, of course, be applied for both private and professional purposes.

12. Photographs and Video Recordings

Participation in an event does not automatically constitute consent to the publication of photographs or video recordings showing participants.

If photographs or recordings are taken during an event for use on Butzeria’s website, in newsletters or on social media, consent will be obtained separately from any identifiable individuals shown.

13. Applicable Law

Swiss law applies.

Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular mandatory provisions regarding jurisdiction in relation to consumers, remain unaffected.
