The Magic of Double Knitting
 

At first glance, double knitting can feel almost like magic:
 

You knit two right sides in two colours at the same time – creating a completely reversible piece of fabric.
 

This technique opens up a whole new world of possibilities: from scarves and hats to cardigans and sweaters with reversible patterns.
 

In this workshop, you won’t just learn the technique – you’ll learn to understand the concept behind double knitting.
 

Together, we’ll knit a small practice piece with a heart motif. Step by step, you’ll discover how two layers of fabric are created at the same time and connected as you knit.

• confidently work with two colours at the same time

• explore different cast-on methods

• read and work from knitting charts

• work Doubleface flat (hands-on practice)

• understand how Doubleface works in the round (theory only)

• bind off neatly

Skill level: You should know how to knit and purl
Please bring: 2 balls or leftovers of yarn in two strongly contrasting colours and knitting needles suitable for your yarn (circular needles or DPNs)
